One Month 'Til Morocco!

February and March has been packed with things for the Moroccan trip. If you're reading this next year as a Fulbrighter, we received a lot of info about 2 weeks after the in-person DC meeting. I've now submitted my guiding question, been in contact with the travel team (trying to figure out if I can afford to extend the trip a couple of days), and have purchased a lot of stuff from Amazon for the trip (from converters to a new travel purse and everything in between.)

Once of the most exciting parts was zooming last weekend with my host teacher and the other teacher who are partnered with me for the second portion of the trip. I've been assigned a teacher in Marrekech(!!!) and I am so excited about it. The teacher seems amazing and the other US teacher is so cool. The host teachers have all completed Fulbright programs in the US and know about Americans (we can be a handful sometimes.) :) We will be zooming every other weekend (mornings for us, afternoon in Morocco). My teacher also hosted two American teachers last year and added us to the group chat with those teachers. It was very cool to be able to ask them questions since they already did some of the same things we will be experiencing.

Random comment - What'sApp is huge! There are group chats for all the Fulbrighters going somewhere this year with Fulbright TGC, a group chat just for the Moroccan team, a group chat with my host teacher, my partner teacher, last year's teachers, and me, and other variations of all of those. So, future Fulbrighters, be sure to get that app!

I'm off to write a proposal for the administrator about my workshop I want to present!
